Thousands of people who have emotional pain suffer in silence because they do not receive mental health treatment.
The Black Psychiatrists of Greater New York & Associates is a multi-cultural organization that seeks to expand access to psychiatric care for people of African descent and all people who are under-served. Our members include mental health professionals, medical professionals, clergy, and community members. We work with individuals, faith-based organizations, social service agencies, schools, businesses, and government agencies toward our goal.

We are committed to empowering communities of color through educating people about the importance of mental health treatment, supporting culturally competent mental health services, promoting computer technologies, and providing professional support. We promote best practices in psychiatric care through interpretation of research findings and consultation with peers. We partner with other organizations to dispel myths about mental illness, so people can lead healthy and productive lives.
